Your Guide to Economic Stimulus Payments

UPDATE: According to the IRS, the first big wave of stimulus payments for the third round are expected to be posted on Wednesday, March 17th. Continue to visit IRS.gov for updates

 

The American Rescue Plan Act was signed by the President, meaning that the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will be able to start issuing the third round of Economic Impact Payments (stimulus payments) in the form of direct deposit, paper checks, and debit cards (EIP cards).

Fitzsimons Credit Union have compiled a series of tips to help you navigate this process:

Enroll in Online Banking

How You’ll Receive the Payment
If you qualify and filed a tax return, your payment will be deposited directly into the same banking account used for tax filing purposes.

Receiving a Physical Check?
You can easily deposit your funds and access them securely by logging in and using Fitzsimons Credit Union’s Mobile App. In most cases, deposited funds are available within one business day. Click here for detailed instructions on the mobile app’s remote check deposit feature.

You can also deposit a check physically through our new Live Teller Service.

Set up real-time transaction alerts

Stay up to date on account activity by setting alerts. Log in to the Online Banking Portal and click “Settings” in the navigation menu. Go to the “Security and Alerts” section and click “Alerts”. From Alert Subscriptions, select the account that your stimulus payment will be directly deposited to. Customize your account to send you an alert when you receive electronic deposits over a certain amount.

Once you have set up alerts through online banking, you can choose to receive alerts either by email or notifications through the Fitzsimons Mobile app.

Beware of Scams
Be aware of text messages, phone calls, or emails from those claiming to be the IRS. The IRS will not text, email, or call you about your stimulus check. Fitzsimons Credit Union will also never send text messages requesting user ID login, your SSN, or any other confidential account information. If you receive any suspicious calls or texts, please call our Contact Center immediately at 303-340-3343.
